OO HEAT RECAP
Joey Styles? Good. Continued
Humiliation of Shelton Benjamin? Bad.
November 2, 2005

by The Cubs Fan
OnlineOnslaught.com/TheCubsFan.com

No vote for the Heat match? Note they don't trust anyone else with the Jericho "I'll face anyone left on the roster" bit.

the power is back, open.

LIVE, in San Diego, CA, I just saw a Santo mask. Lots of Rey ones, of course. Inside the arena, at the Taboo Tuesday Control Center, it's Todd, and people pretending to be paying attention to computers.

TT: John Cena vs Kurt Angle vs Big Show or Shawn Michaels or Kane
TT: Ric Flair vs Triple H in a 1 Fall to a Finish or a Submission or a Steel Cage match [IC]
TT: Carlito vs Cactus Jack or Dude Love or Mankind
three match hyped = video package. Surprising Cactus wasn't given the last spot - guess that means we're actually supposed to vote Mankind? They rewind it with Cactus last to make up for it. (2:15) Todd says Carlito is at a disadvantage because he doesn't know which gimmick he's got to prepare for. Uh huh.

TT: Ric Flair vs Triple H in a 1 Fall to a Finish or a Submission or a Steel Cage match [IC].
Todd does not note the title here or before.
Video package - the one from RAW. They're really working hard on finding people with sad faces in the crowd lately. (3:10)

WM DVD set ad. (1:00)

Back outside - this is where we'd get our Sponsored By, but that's not an issue here. Just shots of people inside.

Tonight: Shelton Benjamin & Val Venis vs Kerwin White & Matt Striker. C'mon, Shelton. You're letting me down.

TT: Twisted Transistor by Korn

Press Conference footage. Notice the fans who act the most into it get their interviews on TV. (1:37)

TT PPV ad: main event

Todd riles up the crowd and conducts some polls.

TT: Edge and Chris Masters vs two of Rey Mysterio, Christian, Matt Hardy, JBL and Hardcore Holly
Crowd doesn't seem as high on Christian as the one last night.
TT: Divas Battle Royale in Lingerie, Leather & Lace, or Cheerleader
TT: World Heavyweight Championship Batista vs Coach in a verbal debate, arm wrestling, or a street fight
Todd says the first choices in disdain, in case the crowd was too stupid to get it.

Video package of the epic segment last night. They DO have the port-a-potty footage. One weird segment begets at another. Hey, Luna. They highlight the "just plain afraid of you" line. For some reason, they edit out the trip! (2:25)

TT PPV ad: Flair/Batista

Jerry "the King" Lawler to the desk. Or not - his music plays for quite a while and we get shots of the fans instead. Something's up, because it's about a minute and he still hasn't come out.

Well, we never see if he came and they didn't show him, because they move on to the Theme from ECW, and there's Joey Styles. Joey's weirded out by ECW logo being up there, the fans being out there. Lawler's out after him. What was up there? Joey reuses "he can't do either" line about Coach here.

Shelton Benjamin (Orangeburg, SC, 248 pounds) and Val Venis (Las Vegas, NV, 244 pounds) vs Kerwin White & Matt Striker (457 pounds, w/Nick Nemeth) - so how well does Joey know the roster or the storylines if he just got brought in today? Guess we find out. King takes care of the PPV lineups. Striker gets a ride in the cart. Your ref is Mickey Jay, just because hits isn't weird enough. Val and Striker to start, they waste no time here. Distractions allow Striker to get the edge. Tag to Kerwin as they both work the left knee. Tag back to Striker. Cranking the knee. Tag again, working over the leg. Kerwin crank it. Val trying to kick out of it with the right leg, and pulling it off. Kerwin stumbles over to Shelton and gets knocked down. Van Val make the tag? Tag to Striker, no tag to Shelton, Val stopped short. He gets a couple more tires, but no. Enziguri does work, and now he'll make the tag. We in a hurry? Shelton on fire, punching Striker and getting revenge. Corner whip, reversed, Shelton with a springboard forearm. Backdrop for Kerwin, back bend backbreaker, one two Kerwin breaks it up. All four in. Kerwin punches Kerwin down, then punches Striker down, but gets pulled out Kerwin. Kerwin back in, and Shelton flapjacks him. Clubbing clothesline takes care of him, Striker an inside cradle, arm grabbing the ropes, then feet on the ropes, one two three. (2:43) EXHALE! Do 'competitive' three minute really add anything? Joey didn't seem to note Striker/Shelton issue, but neither did Lawler - I think Coach might have mentioned if he were here, but that's only because he was on Heat for the turn. Replay shows not only did Striker have the ropes, but Shelton's shoulder was clearly up by 3. This is why you were unemployed, Mickey Jay!

TT: Ric Flair vs Triple H in a 1 Fall to a Finish or a Submission or a Steel Cage match for the InterContinental Championship - again, not mention of the title
TT: Edge and Chris Masters vs two of Rey Mysterio, Christian, Matt Hardy, JBL and Hardcore Holly
TT: Divas Battle Royale in Lingerie, Leather & Lace, or Cheerleader
TT: World Heavyweight Championship Batista vs Coach (w/Goldust & Vader) in a verbal debate, arm wrestling, or a street fight
Lawler spontaneously asks the crowd what stip in that match. "Do you want see Batista break Coach's back, Coach's neck, or put a boot up his ass?"
TT: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs two of Big Show, Kane, or Shawn Michaels [WORLD TAG]
TT: John Cena vs Kurt Angle vs Big Show or Shawn Michaels or Kane [WWE]
Video package. It cuts out early because the computers say it's time for the PPV, but let's say (2:00)
