Ahhh… adversity.

It’s amazing how this shit works out sometimes. About two weeks ago, I mentioned that small brain tumor my future step mother developed and how it shouldn’t be a problem. Well, there is. Seems it’s cancer…and I found out exactly one hour before I was supposed to do my last Raw recap – ever. Surgery is next week sometime, and right now, I’m working on getting Heather down to Florida for the surgery. (Yea, they have to remove it then its kemo-therapy time!!! Lucky Pam.) So, if you all would, please keep her in your prayers and hope for the best.

And, no there, isn’t a recap today because of that reason. Sorry, but there is just too much that I need to get done to get Heather out to Florida . I’m sure you guys will understand…

Now, I know you saw what I wrote above… my last Raw recap ever. Well, take a deep breath before doing the big spaz routine, because, it’s not what you guys are thinking right now. Here, let me explain…

Recently, I’ve been pretty upset with the way SCJ has been working out. It’s been pretty – I don’t know – confusing. See, I work best when people know what I’m writing about, and that doesn’t take place when I’m doing the recapping. It’s tough to do everything that occurs on television, then put your insight into it, then a few jokes. During that process, some (a lot) of the jokes got lost in the translation.

When SCJ was designed by Rick and myself, it was supposed to run with CRZ’s recap. He was supposed to do the full recap, then people would read me second. Under that formula, people could read the real recap then switch over and check out my off-the-cuff crap I spewed. (I think) It worked well under that formula, and when I returned, that was the formula that I intended to keep. Unfortunately, CRZ retired at the same time and I took on the full load of recapping and being the goof. However, what I didn’t understand is that it was damn tough to do the recap and still be myself, and because of it, some of that got lost behind a wall of muck.

So it goes like this: I step down from the SCJ Raw recapper position – which wasn’t really working out too well - and let Rick find a replacement.  Perhaps Shastar, whose recaps on the OO Forums have been tremendous. And then, I establish a new column…one more for my – shall we say – unique views on wrestling.

From now on, SCJ will be a normal column at OO, but with one hitch: it’s all about storylines. Each week, I’ll pick a storyline, review it from top to bottom – first week until last week – and go through it to see what worked and what didn’t. Then, I’ll add my opinions on what the fed could have done to make it better. And, if they did nothing wrong and the storyline is fantastic, then I’ll say that they did it exactly the way I would have liked to have seen it.

Call it a movie review for the wrestling fan. A review of what we would have liked to have seen – like Angle and Benoit – compared to the shit that made our stomachs turn – like Triple H, Kane and Katie Vick.

So, I want to thank everyone for struggling through the last couple of months of what could definitely be called a peculiar time in this columns history… and I hope you all tune in for what I think will definitely become something interesting in the future.

And, I want to thank Rick for going through with this.  And good luck to Shastar, if he ends up with the job.  He definitely deserves a spot on the writing staff of OO.

And, again, I’m sorry about this week…you know, it’s been a really shitty start to the new year. At some point, my luck has to change. At least, I’d like to think it will…
